Vogue India accused of nepotism; puts 18-year-old daughter of Shah Rukh Khan on cover
The move has been thrashed by critics who say that Suhana is yet to make her mark in any industry.
Vogue India has been hit by claims of nepotism after putting the 18-year-old daughter of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan on its front cover.
The well known fashion magazine usually reserves its cover for the most famous actors, singers or models around the world.
However, Suhana, according to critics is yet to make her mark in any industry.
This has prompted social media users to accuse Vogue India of putting her on the cover solely because she is the daughter of 'The King of Bollywood'.
Taking to Twitter, one user, Vaishali, wrote: 'Girls like me are not even getting jobs at Vogue India but girls who have literally not done anything in their entire lives are getting on its over.'
Another user posted, “Why does a prestigious magazine like Vogue India have Suhana Khan on [the] cover? Is she celebrity. No. She is just [the] daughter of a superstar.”
However, Suhana was quick to retort, saying, “I keep telling myself that haters are going to hate, but I can't honestly say that I don't get upset by it.”
Another social media user posted, “SRK's daughter has gone through some struggle. It is also known as Suhana Suffer.”
However, there were those Samaritans who came to her rescue.
Himesh wrote: 'There is nothing wrong in nepotism. If my father was an actor, I would have definitely asked for his help to give me a break and there is NOTHING wrong in it.'
While Khalid Ahmed Khan wrote, “She’s the star kid doesn’t mean she deserve trolls.”
Notably, Anaita Shroff Adajania, who styled the shoot, is also a friend of SRK.
