Researchers ban that a ban on plastic can triple the emission of greenhouse gas
Waste products from production of such materials are all bad for the environment and melting activities can cause emission of CO2.
Environmental pollution caused by plastics is something authorities and activists across the globe are trying to fight. But while outright bans may seem like a solution, they may lead to more serious repercussions for the environment.
A new study has said that such a ban can triple the emission of green house gases. This is expected to happen due to manufacture of glass and metal meant to replace plastic.
The global energy consumption will be doubled because of increased production of these materials and resources needed for this will lead to more greenhouse gas. Waste products from production of such materials are all bad for the environment and melting activities involved in the process lead to emission of CO2.
Researchers said that while people want to reduce and ban plastic, it must be replaced with materials that don’t harm the environment.
