Power drive rally led by Defence wives
Leading tyre manufacturer, JK Tyre & Industries Ltd, organised its first edition of JK Tyre Defence Wives Power Drive' in Delhi.
The one-of-its-kind all-women rally to celebrate the spirit of the Indian Armed Forces and aims promote motorsport among women in India was organised in the Capital.
Leading tyre manufacturer, JK Tyre & Industries Ltd, organised its first edition of JK Tyre Defence Wives Power Drive' in Delhi. Flagged-off from the ceremonial boulevard Rajpath, the rally witnessed the participation of 115 women who were wives of Indian Armed Forces came together to race for the cause of women empowerment.
Padma Shri Deepa Mallik, Indian Para Athlete graced the ceremony and flagged-off the rally in presence of Madhulika Rawat, President Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA).
"My journey as a rallyist helped me to change the set of wheels and create a new identity of a four-wheeler for me. It made me participate in children's life, I felt empowered and independent despite of having disability. It was amazing to see that women has come forward and taken a wheel. It was really to empower women; the feeling of being able to take care of things in today's modern world is really amazing" Said, Deepa Malik.
