Social media has opened doors for several platforms for more interaction and effective communication between the tech savvy generation, while text lingo and emojis have found a way into communications between young people as far as the digital space is concerned.

As kids are quickly adopting every new trend that hits the internet, the previous generations have had a difficulty catching up with trends changing at a quick pace. As parents try to understand what their kids are doing, a news anchor came up with his own peculiar interpretation of emojis, which he termed as a code language between teens.

He started with a zipped face emoji and a couple meaning teens hiding something from the folks, and then went on to suggest that a fox emoji can be a signal for sneaking out of the house and even that a hibiscus flower is a way of inviting someone to do drugs.

It’s no surprise that the rather paranoid interpretation by the anchor was noticed on social media, and this led to tweeple coming up with their own hilarious retorts to the video.

Don’t know about helping parents understand what kids are doing behind their back, but this video gave the internet something to talk about.
