Celebratory gunfire is a worrying trend which can be observed in several places across the globe. Incidents of such risky celebrations going terribly wrong and ending in tragedy have also been reported a lot in the past few years from India and Pakistan among other countries.
But in a bizarre incident from Egypt, a groom was left in excruciating pain after getting shot in the penis on the night before his wedding. 28-year-old Osman was hit in the genitals, thigh and hand when one of the guests fired a weapon as part of the celebrations and was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries.
While investigations revealed that his 26-year-old relative accidentally hit the groom, it isn’t known if the groom was able to attend his own wedding. This incident comes after a 14-year-old child was shot dead during a wedding in Egypt.
Several governments across the middle-east have tried to curb the menace of celebratory gunfire practiced widely in the region.
