Valentine’s Day rarely has much to offer to singles. While couples are busy basking in all their relationship glory, singles are often sidelined with very little to do. However, that doesn’t mean you can’t meet singles either.
Planet Luv is a Vancouver-based singles event company that is hosting a singles’ event in the city where you can meet new singles and, like every other singles’ event, you can leave with the contact details of someone you click with best.
Bharat Singh, who is on the organising team, says that the event is a lot like a Tinder that has moved offline. “It might seem like any other singles event, but we are trying to make it as much fun as we can.” Laying down the agenda for the evening, Bharat says that they have planned on several icebreaking activities that will get strangers talking and going. “There will be a stand-up comedian on the stage whose content will revolve around relationships and single people, we will have foot-tapping music playing too,” he says. The space will also have a message board where if you ‘click’ with someone, you can drop a message under their name on the message board. “Every participant will be given a number. If you aren’t comfortable taking a conversation forward in person, you can do so by looking up the person’s number.”
Apart from this there will also be a tarot segment, which is a light take on the kundali culture of India. “In here there is a whole kundali culture. If a couple is enjoying themselves, they can go over to the tarot stall to check their match. It sounds run down, but will be fun,” Bharat says with a laugh.
