Former model Shvetha Jaishankar is familiar with the struggles that come with weight loss. Post-pregnancy, she found it difficult to shed the weight. When Shvetha finally found her fitness mantra, she decided to share her regime in the form of a book. She launched Gorgeous in the company of her model friends. “This book is an intersection between indulgence and nutritious eating. The primary reason for this book is to present a basic weight loss meal plan,” said Shvetha at the book launch.

The book is littered with anecdotes from models like Malaika Arora, Madhu Sapre, Trisha Krishnan, Nina Manuel, Niketan Madhok, Fleur Xavier and Milind Soman. Shvetha recalls that when she met Milind to pitch the idea for the book, she had already taken note of his eating patterns. She said, “While I met Milind, he ate three fruit plates right in front of me. This gave me an idea of how one can eat more, but at a right time.”

Shvetha further added while it is assumed that a lot of models usually starve themselves, she is making an attempt to present the real side of a model’s life. She said, “It’s a popular belief that Bollywood actresses refrain from indulging themselves with sweets, but that’s a myth since they eat everything but in the right quantity and at the right time.”
