AIB new video mocks people who don't think depression is an issue
The video how it is just like any other sickness and shouldn't be alienated
People suffering from depression have a lot of issues dealing with it but people around them often don’t even recognize it as a sickness. Friends and family often treat it as a negative belief that the affected people thinks they have and is nothing to be worried about.
Indian stand-up comedy group All India Bakchod recently addressed a very important issue about how people talk about depression when they meet someone with it. The video terms depression as ‘fever’ and ‘typhoid’ to highlight how it is nothing special but just like any other sickness people are facing and there is no need to make a big deal out of it. The depressed person is often faced with questions like how are you depressed today, you were very fine yesterday. They often treat it as a misconception and tell the person to get out of the house so that they could feel fine.
The video has now gone viral with an important message at the end highlighting the need to help individuals in depression. The video creatively takes a dig at all the people who criticize depressed people and their so-called ‘abnormal’ behaviour.
