Hrithik Roshan and Kangana Ranaut

When actor Hrithik Roshan decided to break his silence in a no holds barred interview about his alleged affair with actress Kangana Ranaut which took a rather ugly turn, it raised eyebrows for plenty of reasons.

While the probe is still on, and there’s hope that the just will get vindicated,  the statement Hrithik made on a TV show stating how a lot of people bought what Kangana said because people wonder, “Why would a girl lie” implies how even men can be victimised or on the receiving end of chronic stalking. And, history is laden with instances of the same.

Back in Sandalwood, actor Sri Murali had come out in the open about how he was harassed by a female fan in Bengaluru and availed the intervention of the cops. Tracing the syndrome back to the west, In June 2012, it was reported that American singer-songwriter Usher was stalked by a woman fan named Darshelle Jones-Rakestraw, who make shocking claims like allegedly being married to Usher and would turn up at his residence in Georgia. Even after having the cops called, she still returned to his residence. We talk to male celebrities on their take, and to share the inside track...

“Honestly speaking, I’m very scared. There have been several instances where the guy involved has been taken into custody without a warrant on an allegation by a woman. Truth is, considering how the laws are in favour for women (which I think is a wonderful thing), a lot of miscreants out there find it easier to mask themselves under the context of being a damsel in distress. I believe we’re all responsible collectively as a society. As much as I would like for the just person to win in any circumstance, let’s not forget how important it is for people to keep their eyes open. As a public figure, I would advise my fellow male counterparts to be more responsible online and always keep drafts of any conversation no matter how trivial it may seem. Also, keep yourself updated about the laws and ensure things aren’t ignored,” opines Vijay Suriya, a popular Sandalwood actor.
