Woman with cerebral palsy becomes first person in a wheelchair to complete 7 marathons

Life can be a daily struggle for people suffering from conditions that leave them with disabilities. But there are always people who inspire everyone by showing extraordinary courage in the face of adversity.
Completing seven marathons across seven different continents isn’t a task everyone can perform. But 26-year-old Johanna Garvin achieved this incredible feat while she was in a wheelchair.
She became the first person ever to cover a distance of 295 km in seven days and complete the World Marathon Challenge using a wheelchair. The challenge saw 51 athletes from across the globe attempt the toughest collection of endurance races.
After being born 11 weeks premature, Johanna suffered lung haemorrhage and a stroke when she was just three days old. Diagnosed for cerebral palsy at the age of one, she had to use a wheelchair all her life.
It was through sheer determination that Johanna went on to complete the extremely tough race.
