Trust the universe
Spend time with yourself. Keep your gadgets away, listen to your inner voice and tune in.
How many of you are unhappy? How many of you feel — ‘I need a promotion’ or ‘All my friends are married and I am not’ or ‘I need a holiday but I can’t travel’ or ‘Why is xyz more successful than me?’ or ‘My life seems so monotonous’ and so on. In today’s world most are frustrated, stressed and disappointed, but have you ever wondered that if things go on like this, life is only going to get worse. The only way we can change our lives for the better is to worry less and trust more.
Unpleasant situations happen in everyone’s life at some point of time or the other, but how we react to it clearly talks about our state of being.
Let me share my own life experience. A few days back I took a little tumble and twisted my left foot. It was awfully painful and in a few minutes my foot started to swell. The first thought that came to me was that it must be a ligament tear or muscle pull but when the swelling started increasing I was advised to visit a doctor. It turned out to be a foot fracture and I was on a plaster cast for four weeks. My initial reaction was to cry, not because of pain but because I felt trapped and helpless. But in a few hours I came back to my true nature and instantly experienced peace within, as I knew that I’m surely protected and it could have been worse.
My facebook status read: ‘If I was destined to slip it would have been better if I would have for a handsome guy” soon there were comments on my wall, and most had a hearty laugh. Later I received a text from someone closest to my heart: “I’m glad you can see the humorous side of it’’. And my inner voice too told me that it was right to have connected with my inner humour instead of blaming destiny. Soon I was in a state of bliss and knew that it had happened for a reason and many beautiful things are going to emerge from this.
Make the best of a situation
Let’s talk about what we often face in our daily lives. You are stuck in a traffic jam and running out of time. Now you have two choices — either to crib, lose your temper or realise that even in this chaos there is an opportunity. Look around and you will notice that you are not the only one in this situation and no matter what you do, you can’t change it. You can now choose to spend time with the self and listen to music or call a loved one whom you haven’t spoken to in a long time, like an aunt who is unwell — tell her that you love her and she will be fine, or your parents — tell them that you are blessed to have them in your life.
Absorb yourself in the present moment
It’s high time you realise that you cannot control the environment but what you can control is within. When you seem to lose control, take a moment, close your eyes and take a deep breath. Soon you will realise that you not only sense a feeling of calmness but you are also releasing stress.
Stop seeking perfection
Perfection is an illusion. No one is perfect but each one of us is perfectly unique. Everything that seems perfect is flawed. Learn to accept yourself. Be gentle with the self and know that you are doing the best you can and wherever you are is the best for you in the present moment.
Practice Patience
Spend time with yourself. Keep your gadgets away, listen to your inner voice and tune in. Soon you will find a storm/rollercoaster of unresolved issues, emotions, grudges etc which prevent you from living life to the fullest. Let go of them and set yourself free. Most of us are impatient because we haven’t found peace as we are always in a rat race.
Don’t get stuck
If you were asked how important is your ex car or phone to you today, what would you say? Sadly, most of us are glued to our phones and busy flaunting our cars. It’s high time you stopped wasting your energy on temporary things and spend more time with the true gifts that life has offered i.e. our loved ones and the self.
Allow life to flow
When you want something really bad and there is a delay, just let go. No matter how hard you try, things aren’t going the way you want them to. At this moment remind yourself that the creator/universe is protecting you and the delay is for a reason/your greater good. There is something much better in store for you and at the right moment it’ll surely appear. Allow the universal flow to unfold, worry will only cause obstruction.
Have a hearty laugh
Life can never be smooth sailing but you can make it fun by adding humour to it. Don’t take life so seriously. Whatever situation you are in, remind yourself that it could have been worse and after every storm there is a beautiful day. Laugh at the most absurd situations even if you have taken a tumble and life will bless you with abundance.
