Fame is something everyone likes to experience in their lives. However, Instagram handles like anonymous_truthseeker, tedthestoner, __luvsociety, pointromance, couplepointss and several others that have more 100k odd followers, have managed to change the lives of many with their positive attitude, but when they are requested to reveal their identity they tend to shy away. We delve deeper to understand their psyche.

Remember the good old days when authors and poets worked under a penname with the sole aim of propagating the essence of literature and not to gloat in fame? Later came famous musicians like Sia, DJ Marshmello, DJ Allan Walker and several others who wore masks and performed only to avoid being noticed. And now living in a world where money and fame is given the ultimate priority, there exists these youngsters who anonymously hold pages in Instagram and do so only to spread love and harmony.

The admin of the page called Tedthestoner on Instagram, thinks the reason for not embracing fame is that there was never an expectation of a fruitful outcome at the first place, he says, “The primary motive of the page was to make people happy. It’s just a small community helping each other grow, one at a time. Fame has never been something that excites me. I’m more than happy to have formed a community which helps animals and humans alike. There have been more than 5,500 dogs adopted because of the page and for me, that is much more soul satisfying than getting my share of fame. I guess the purpose would be lost somewhere if I choose to embrace the fame.”

Love is everywhere and sometimes you just need a cupid to strike the arrow or a post from this page __luvsociety on Instagram. From solving relationship problems to coaching people about embracing life the way it comes the admin seems to know it all. But, when requested the admin chooses to stay unexposed. Here’s why, “The main reason why I started this page was to run away from people, even better run away from myself. I experienced a phase of depression due to heartbreak. That’s why I now fear people. Because the fact is that attachment leads to pain. So it’s better to stay anonymous and do my work. I never started this page for fame. Now I am garnering all the attention but I don’t want it because I have not done anything great to achieve this fame.”

Speaking about what makes them stand out when compared to other pages, the admin of a page called Trollspoint says, “Sometimes people pretend to be anonymous and later give links to their own personal page to be followed. Once they make enough followers they use their personal pages to make money. It’s a sad world where people just run behind money and not pause to think about the purpose of their existence. My purpose is to put a smile of people’s faces and that is what satisfies me.”

Sharanya Jithin a psychologist delves deeper to explain their mental psyche. She says, “Social media influencers are creating a wave of positivity by encapsulating creativity. Some of them shy away because they believe in truly giving out positive assurance to the world and would not prefer to reveal their identity. The flip side to social media is duplication of information and lack of authenticity, thus revealing identity could cause personal legal implications. Some of the other reasons could be to create a brand in the product rather than an individual. Sometimes the fear of being judged, for instance if a person created content on suicide or depression, followers most likely would go through all the personal information and directly message the individual for more details and this could tamper their personal space.”
