Mumbai police's Khaki Swag
As #SareeTwitter started trending on Twitter, the Mumbai Police launched its own hasthtag as a tribute to the men in Khaki.
Mumbai Police’s quirky social media posts have never failed to grab attention so when they called all ‘police friends across the country’ to share their images in their uniform, the responses came in huge numbers. Sharing an image of a policeman, the tweet read, “A shout out to all our police friends across the country, let’s share some #KhakiSwag in a uniform we all take pride in, with #KhakiTwitter. Do tag fellow officers, more the ‘Khakier’.”
Soon enough, images of those wearing the police uniform started doing rounds. While others posted pictures of their family members in police along with messages expressing their pride and love for the uniform. Actress Kavita Kaushik also took to the micro-blogging site to share an image of her policeman father and wrote, “The best Man I know! lt Shri Dinesh Chandra kaushik , DSP , CRPF The man who lived only for others .. the man who inspired every bit of Chandramukhi Chautala. My father strongest .. even in heaven.(sic)”. Another user shared his father’s image and posted, “Here’s my dad when he joined the Maharashtra Police as a probationer in 1985. Proud of our extended khaki family that works tireless come rain or shine #KhakiTwitter,”
Till now, the tweet has almost more than 5500 ‘likes’ and more than 806 retweets.
