In a shocking incident, an Amazon shopper was left horrified when he found a bottle of urine in his damaged delivery box
The disgusting item was in a damaged box containing a £65 Swarovski bauble that was handed over by a driver.
The anonymous 30-year-old customer said he opened the box and pulled out his order only to find it also contained a bottle – full of urine.
“I could tell instantly what it was. I just couldn’t believe it,” he said, adding, “It made me feel sick and I took it straight out to the bin.”
The man had to keep on washing his hands multiple times.
He added, ““It’s not about the compensation. It seems like this one got caught short and the bottle has somehow ended up in my package.”
The man went on to say that it was a health issue as some of it could have gotten outside and contaminated him as well.
This is not the first time Amazon has faced such complaints. In December, it was revealed in a probe that many Amazon drivers urinate in plastic bottles in their vans as they have no time to stop for toilet breaks.
Many work for as long as 12 hours each day, despite UK law stating drivers must not exceed 11 hours work per day.
Interestingly, the man, from Stoke-on-Trent, added, “Their reaction was odd. They didn’t seem to be very surprised.”
He was however, taken aback, because he expected a little bit more from the billion-dolar company.
The man complained to Amazon via the online giant’s Facebook page and was told: “I’m terribly sorry to see this!
Amazon, who gave the man a refund and vouchers worth £150 as a gesture, said: “We take this seriously and are investigating.”
