Eileidh, who wished for a dream wedding' with her best friend Harrison Grier got her dream come true
Death is an eye opener for some, for others like Eileidh, it brings an immense sense of profundity to a mere five-year-old child. Eileidh, who wished for a ‘dream wedding’ with her best friend Harrison Grier, aged six, befor she died, got what she wanted.
The ceremony say hundreds of people join Eileidh, with some of them even making the journey from far flung places.
Speaking to a popular newspaper, Harrison’s father, the father of the groom, Billy Grier said, “Harrison had never been to a wedding before, so this was all new to him. But it was a beautiful ceremony and he enjoyed every minute. He was quite excited to do it. Ever since he met Eileidh, they have been inseparable. I think he knew what was going on. He certainly knew how important it was to her and wanted to do whatever he could for her.”
The wedding saw Eileidh and Harrison holding hands and exchanging necklaces and also had a procession of costumed superheroes and princesses. Eileidh’s elder brother Callum walked into the room to ‘When You Wish Upon a Star’ from Pinocchio while the ceremony also saw a fairy-tale reading session by Zara Grant. Zara runs a children’s entertainment firm and spun a tale on Eileidh’s life where the neuroblastoma was referred to as an evil beast. Eileidh’s mum Gail has written the story. After the pair was officially declared ‘best friends forever’ they took to the floor and had their first dance.
