Mumbai rain: Here's why it is trending on Twitter

Despite widespread carnage Mumbaikars took to Twitter to find humour in the situation.

Heavy rains lashed the metropolis and Thane district throughout the night and continued this morning, causing water-logging at several places and slowing the movement of suburban trains, thus causing inconvenience to office-goers.

However, the indomitable spirit of Mumbaikars was not to be throttled.

Despite widespread carnage that saw three people die across the city and wall collapsing in Wadala (not to mention water-logging in various areas), Mumbaikars took to Twitter to find humour in the situation.

Azhar Khan echoed the sentiments of the hundreds who had to drudge their way to office despite the downpour,

Twitter user Ritesh Bendre echoed Mumbai's love affair with rains, in a humorous manner,

Mumbai Police too were not far behind. Tweeting from their official handle, they wrote the 'bandobast' was all done for them to help civilians during the rain,
