After 14 years of shaving regularly, woman with PCOS embraces her facial hair
Nova also went on to colour her facial hair to match her hair and wants to promote a body-positive image.
People with rare conditions have to go through a lot of struggle along with a social stigma due to symptoms of certain disorders. Women with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) also have to face similar challenges from society due to notions regarding the perfect body image.
26-year-old Nova Galaxia regularly shaved in order to hide her facial hair from people since she has PCOS. But after 14 years of her struggle, the woman decided to embrace it and participated in No Shave November last year.
She gradually found confidence and didn’t shave even after No Shave November ended. Nova also went on to colour her facial hair to match her hair and wants to promote a body-positive image to empower women in similar situations.
The woman wrote a Facebook post addressing others struggling with PCOS and those who called her an attention seeker. She said she did want to seek attention for people suffering from the condition.
