When it comes to the best way for spending time with a significant other, sex and board games may not be likely to figure on the same list of choices. But a new study shows that the two may have a link after all.

Scientists have found out that when we find an answer to a puzzle, it triggers the same flood of dopamine which gives a rewarding feeling during sex. They used MRI scans to study the transition from being dark about a solution to finally figuring out a puzzle.

Dopamine is the brain reward that a person gets after sex or even winning the lottery. This same feeling was seen as the part of the brain’s reward system lit up when volunteers found a solution in crosswords.
