People have an exaggerated view about the number of times others have sex
These misconceptions are fuelled by locker room chat, inaccurate surveys, sensational media coverage as well as porn.
Sex is considered to be a crucial part of overall well being and healthy relationships with growing awareness. While people seek intimacy with their partner, they also assume that others are having more action between the sheets.
But a new study has busted this myth as it reveals that people overestimate the amount of sex others are getting. While people guessed that men between the age of 18 to 29 get action every other day, the findings show that most are lucky to get intimate once a week.
In case of women the assumptions are even more inaccurate as it is believed that they have sex every day and three times a day on special occasions. Whereas the study shows that women in their teens and 20s have sex just five times in a span of four weeks.
These misconceptions are fuelled by locker room chat, inaccurate surveys, sensational media coverage as well as porn. Such sources give rise to anecdotes that distort how people view reality.
