Find out the one thing you should never talk about on first date
While some claim it is best to clarify everything in the first date, dating experts feels it is much better to keep things light.
Let’s be honest, first dates, though exciting, are always nerve-wracking.
With dating apps inundating the market, there is a high possibility that you have most probably not met your date so there is a lot riding on that elusive first-impression.
While some claim it is best to clarify everything in the first date itself with questions like ‘What are you looking for in a relationship?’ or ‘Why did you break up with your last partner?’ etc, one dating expert feels it is much better to keep things light.
Speaking to The Independent, dating coach James Preece said that she believes that if you keep conversation fun, your date is more likely to come away in a good mood and feeling more positive towards you.
According to Preece, if one talks about happy, positive things then they’ll be viewed in the same way. So one should ask them about their family, favourite holidays and find out what they are passionate about.
Preece elaborates that when they talk about subjects that really interest them, their face will light up and they'll smile more.
She says that going too heavy could leaving the date with a negative view of you.
Preece points out that dating is meant to be fun.
Relationship expert Madeleine Mason too agrees.
Speaking to The Independent, she says, It’s not the time to share your catastrophic dating past, terrible exes or sexual exploits. Nor is it a good idea to compare bad dates, vent political views or generally voice discontent about life.”
