In addition to being an important activity and a biological medium for communicating intimate feelings towards a significant other, sex is known to be a very efficient way to reduce stress and fight off issues like depression and anxiety.

But the generation which lives a much more active and hectic life is also found to be having less sex in recent studies, and that would make one wonder how they deal with stress. While previous studies did suggest that many young people chose free WiFi over sex, some suggest that video games might have replaced sex when it comes to stress relief.

Even though the notion may seem strange, the study suggests that it seems true in case of men. While 27 percent men questioned said sex relieved stress, 29 percent thought sex was a better option, although talking to friends was the winner with 74 percent.

Meanwhile for women 11 percent went for sex or porn when it came to stress relief, but a majority opted for reading and art apart from time spent with friends, over sex.

A previous study also revealed that individuals playing violent video games were better at countering stress.
