Having a healthy sex life despite ageing can be challenging given a hectic lifestyle and stress it causes. A large number of men face issues such as erectile dysfunction and being sexually active without drugs in old age is a rare occurrence.

Now research suggests that few dietary modifications may hold the key to sexual well being well into the 70s. Turns out a Mediterranean diet consisting of olive oil, fish, vegetables and beans, can reduce chances of impotence by 40 percent.

The findings suggest that sticking to this healthy diet in middle age can enable men to be sexually active without drugs well into their 60s and 70s. Olive oil is among the key ingredients which makes a difference and can also be considered a natural alternative to Viagra if consumed regularly.

Lower levels of fat that could interfere with hormone levels also meant higher testosterone in men. While Viagra can only have short term effects, this diet is a long lasting solution as compared to drugs.
