Go explore Paithalmala
The less-invaded place is preferred by adventure-loving trekkers in two seasons, one during the monsoon and other, the summer.
Winter is here and for those seeking some adventure, Paithalmala in Kannur is an ideal destination. Also known as Vaithalmala, the hill station lies in close proximity to the Kodagu forests, marking the Kerala-Karnataka border.
The less-invaded place is preferred by adventure-loving trekkers in two seasons, one during the monsoon and other, the summer. Many love to backpack to this scenic spot during the rainy season. Less affected by all the tourist infiltration, the place therefore retains its natural glory. If there’s anything to be called a major development in the place, it is an observatory tower setup by the tourist department at a walkable distance from Paithal valley.
Go prepared for a day-long tour. There are resorts in the vicinity offering accommodation. If time allows, try visiting Palakkayam Thattu, another hilltop hangout situated close to Paithalmala.
Located at a height of 1,372m above sea level, the place is accessible from Pottenplave and Kappimala. The anytime motorable stretch of Pottenplave is chosen by many, to which buses are available.
