The WhatsApp application helped the police track three juveniles who were reportedly involved in the murder case of a man in Sarai Rohilla.

New Delhi: The WhatsApp application helped the police track three juveniles who were reportedly involved in the murder case of a man in Sarai Rohilla.

DCP (North) Nupur Prasad said that on Monday they received information regarding a stabbing incident on Sarai Rohilla flyover. During inquiry, it was learnt that the injured was admi-tted at a nearby hospital as an unknown man. He was declared brought dead.

During probe it was observed that the deceased had a tattoo, which read Shambhu Kumar, on his right hand. Upon a personal search of the deceased, Rs 220 cash and a tobacco packet was found on his person. There was no other information about him.

The deceased’s photo was circulated on WhatsApp in the nearby labour quarters and factories for identification. He was identified as Shambhu (29) from Darbhanga in Bihar.

It was also revealed that his phone was missing. Immediately, the International Mo-bile Equipment Ident-ity was tracked and the three juveniles were apprehended.
