Nurse held for planning to kill elderly couple
A pistol, 4 cartridges were recovered from accused.
New Delhi: A Delhi police special cell has arrested a 24-year-old nursing attendant for planning to murder and rob an elderly couple.
The accused was identified as Aakash Patel (24) from Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh. Patel was preparing to commit robbery after eliminating the elderly couple, who are 92 and 85 years old, who resided in south Delhi.
The police recovered one loaded sophisticated pistol with four live cartridges from the accused’s possession.
According to the police, they received information that one Patel has been planning to commit robbery and after eliminating the duo. To execute his plan, he has also contacted criminals of west UP.
The police said that it was found that Patel, who is a nursing midwife diploma holder, was hired as a nursing attendant through a company, Unified Homecare, located in Khanpur, Delhi.
The elderly couple resided alone in south Delhi as their son and daughter had settled abroad and another daughter settled outside Delhi.
Seeing that the family was financially well off, Patel hatched a plan to commit robbery in the couple’s house after murdering them.
He contacted his brother-in-law, who is resident of Etawah (UP) and had his own criminal gang and other criminals. The police laid a trap for Patel and others. He was held on Wednesday at 5 pm from Khanpur area of Delhi.
