Aqua Line service every 7 minutes during rush hour

On Saturdays and Sundays, the frequency of 15 minutes will continue to remain the same.

The decision came hours after the Delhi Assembly passed a resolution against the second Delhi Metro fare hike in a year.

New Delhi: Aqua Line Metro trains will be available every 7.30 minutes during rush hours and every 10th minute during non-rush hours on weekdays from June 3, its operator, Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC), announced on Saturday.

At present, the trains ply at an interval of 10 minutes during peak hours (8.00 am-11.00 pm and 5.00 pm-8.00 pm) and 15 minutes during non-peak hours from Monday to Friday, the NMRC said.

“NMRC will be increasing the frequency of the Metro trains on the Aqua Line on weekdays with effect from June 3 (Monday). Trains on the Aqua Line will now ply at a frequency of 7 minutes 30 seconds during peak hours and 10 minutes during non-peak hours on weekdays i.e. Monday to Friday,” NMRC executive director PD Upadhyay said.

On Saturdays and Sundays, the frequency of 15 minutes will continue to remain the same.

Metro to start at 6 am for Civil Services candidates

In view of Civil Services preliminary examination, metro train services on Sunday will begin at 6 am on all corridors, officials said.

Metro train services on Phase-III sections, which usually begin at 8 am on Sundays, will begin at 6 am on all lines, including the Phase-3 extensions, he said.

On regular days, sections like Dilshad Garden-Shaheed Sthal (New Bus Adda), Jahangirpuri-Samaypur Badli, Noida City Centre-Noida Electronic City, Mundka-Brigadier Hoshiyar Singh, Janakpuri West-Botanical Garden, the services begin at 8 am, while on the rest of the sections, it begins usually at 6 am only, officials said.
