New Delhi: Urging students to come up with their own innovative ideas to earn their living, deputy chief minister and education minister Manish Sisodia said on Thursday that this is necessary as no government is in a position to create jobs for them.

Mr Sisodia was the chief guest at the orientation programme of the Delhi Technological University (DTU), where he met around 3,000 new students.

“There should be an aim in everyone’s life and one must do everything to achieve it. Being in the top five institutions, such as DTU, is a proud moment and you should take full advantage of it. The alumni of DTU are playing a huge role in the economic and developmental growth of the country by providing jobs to many and we need to upgrade ourselves to compete with several big foreign companies,” he said.

“In India, around 17-18 lakh students complete their graduation every year. It is a huge number and no government will be able to create job opportunities. Students should generate more creative ideas in respect to creating new job opportunities,” he added
