Nude man beaten to death in Delhi
Deceased's friends inserted a cricket bat's handle in his private parts; one arrested .
New Delhi: In an alleged brutal murder case, a naked man was brutally beaten to death in North West Delhi's Timarpur area on Monday night.
One person has been arrested by the police in this connection.
Shocked by the cruelty meted out, the police said that the cold-blooded murder was commissioned by the deceased’s friends. The deceased has been identified as Ram Singh, 45, of Lakhimpur, UP.
The deceased was forced to shed his clothes and beaten by sticks and other weapons by his friends.
According to preliminary investigation, the assailants had allegedly inserted the handle of a cricket bat inside his private parts following which Singh succumbed to injuries in the hospital on Tuesday.
Mr Singh had come to the capital around three months ago and was working as a manual labour. When he was headed home with '22,000 on Oct. 29 night, he was stopped by his four friends, one of whom has been identified as Saurabh.
The deceased had come to Delhi with Mr Saurabh, who also instrumental in helping him find a job.
In his dying statement to the police, Mr Singh before had said that he was stopped by his friends. who allegedly asked him to join in for drinks. All five sat at a place and consumed alcohol.
During the discussion that followed, the five got involved in a verbal scuffle following which the assailants began beating Mr Singh with sticks, cricket bat and other things.
The police said that his friends even inserted a cricket bat’s handle in the man’s private parts. As a result of which, Mr Singh’s intestines, liver, and internal parts of the stomach got damaged and his friends fled the spot.
The incident came to light when a passerby noticed a naked Mr Singh in a pool of blood crying for help.
Upon receiving information, the Timarpur police station personnel reached the spot and admitted him to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
The police registered a case of murder on the statement of the family. The police suspect a drunken brawl and monetary issue to be the reason for the murder.
However, the police maintained that they were yet to ascertain whether Mr Singh was murdered over personal animosity or not.
Mr Singh belonged to Bawori village in Lakhimpur district and was earlier a farmer.
