Dwarka easy day heist solved, 4 held

New Delhi: Four robbers who tried to rob the ‘Easy-day’ store in Dwarka three months ago landed in police net on Saturday.

Also, the prime accused, Om Prakash alias Kala, was arrested. He was previously convicted in an attempt to murder case and was out on bail.

The gang aspires to carve out a name in the crime world of Delhi/NCR for power and money.

One mahindra quanto car, one short rifle, three pistols and five live rounds were recovered.

According to the police, the AATS/Dwarka District worked out the sensational case of firing and robbery at Easy Day Store in Amberai Village, Sector-19, Dwarka which had taken place on August 23.

The arrested are Om Prakash alias Kala, (29),  Mohit, (23),  Kapil Dagar, (24), and Devender (28).

The police said that on August 23, Niranjan Sharma, a security guard at Easy Day Store reported that at about 11:00 pm, three men barged into the store.

Two of them had pistols while the third was unarmed.

They asked him to hand over the cash box.

He informed them that the cash collected in the day has already been transferred from the store.

On hearing this, they checked the cash box and found it empty. Following this, two persons fired into the store and fled away in a grey Santro car.

A dedicated team was constituted and tasked to arrest the criminals involved. The surrounding was searched for availability of any CCTV footage showing any movement of the criminals. The team got early success and a CCTV footage from a camera installed at a shop on the roadside was found.
