Huge uproar among BJP members over tickets
Sources said that heated argument took place on Sunday between few Lok Sabha members and Mr Tiwari.
New Delhi: Strong differences have emerged in the local BJP unit with some Lok Sabha MPs accusing the newly-appointed party unit chief Manoj Tiwari and his team of distributing tickets without keeping them in loop for the upcoming civic elections.
Sources said that heated argument took place on Sunday between few Lok Sabha members and Mr Tiwari, who is also a Lok Sabha member from Northeast Delhi. “They (MPs) are unhappy with the whole process of selection of candidates. Some of them had used some strong words against Mr Tiwari and state general secretary (organisation) Sidharthan,” a source added.
According to party insiders, heated argument among the parliamentarians and Mr Tiwari took place during the final selection of candidates for municipal wards. “Most of the members alleged that the party had sought their opinion and recommendation for BJP candidates from respective areas, but party leadership neither paid any attention to the recommendation nor to their opinion,” he said.
