New Delhi: From tomorrow, BJP workers will come on to the streets to protest against the failure of Delhi government to supply drinking water to the residents.

Delhi BJP pesident Manoj Tiwari said that Delhi Jal Board (DJB) is the only organisation under the direct charge of chief minister Arvind Kejriwal.

“About 1.5 crore people of the capital are suffering due to the failure of the government in discharging its responsibility,” he said.

The present water crisis shows that besides disowning his words and speaking lies, Mr Kejriwal is also neglecting his duties.

Mr Tiwari alleged that the tanker scam continues unabated under the board. The people of rural areas of Delhi, jhuggi clusters and rehabilitation colonies are dependent on the supply of water by the tankers.

At present they are craving for a few drops of safe drinking water.

“We have heard about the punishment of “kala pani”, but the Arvind Kejriwal government is supplying “kala pani” to the people of the capital in the form of polluted drinking water,” Mr Tiwari said.

“As a result the lives of 1.5 crore people of the capital are in danger due to supply of “kala pani”, he added.

“Tomorrow the workers of the Delhi BJP will come on to the streets to protest against this water crisis and meet the lieutenant-governor (L-G) Anil Baijal and demand his intervention in the public interest,” said Delhi BJP president.

Mr Tiwari also claimed that during the programme “MCD Aapke Dwar”, he had visited several areas in which the the DJB supplies unsafe drinking water.

“I found that due to the supply of polluted water the lives of the people has become hell. After drinking polluted water, they fall victim to various diseases, but the Delhi government and chief minister Mr Kejriwal are the least bothered,” he said.
