100 e-ricks to boost last-mile metro connectivity in Dwarka

These GPS enabled SmartEs have covered cabin and full front windscreen.

New Delhi: In a bid to boost the last-mile connectivity in Dwarka, lieutenant-governor Anil Baijal on Friday flagged off a fleet of 100 e-rickshaws, called SmartE, from Dwarka Sec-10 Metro station. These e-rickshaws will be plying from eight Metro stations of Dwarka sub-city including Dwarka, Dwarka Sec-14, Sec-13, Sec-12, Sec-11, Sec-10, Sec-9 and Sec-8 from 6 am to 11 pm. Initially, 100 e-rickshaws are being introduced into service which will gradually be increased to 200 in coming weeks.

These GPS enabled SmartEs have covered cabin and full front windscreen.

The fares have been kept very nominal at a base price of Rs 10 for the first 2 km and Rs 5 for every subsequent km. Commuters can also book vehicles through the SmartE app and pay digitally for their rides.
