Delhi: Man hit by train while crossing tracks near Welcome railway station

The deceased man was found to be carrying his phone and his earphones were plugged into it, the police said.

New Delhi: An 18-year- old man was run over by a train near the Welcome railway station, the police said on Tuesday.

The deceased, identified as Arbaaz Khan, was a resident of Seelampur and was crossing the railway tracks when the incident happened, they added.

He was found to be carrying his phone and his earphones were plugged into it, the police said. They are probing whether he was listening to music while crossing the railway tracks.

Police are also probing whether he was clicking a selfie when he was hit by the train.

"It appears to be an accident. We are probing it from all angles," said a senior police officer, without divulging details. There are no witnesses in the case.
