Congress to don black clothes on November 8

New Delhi: The Delhi Congress workers will on November 8, observe a Black Day, by wearing black clothes as a mark of protest on the completion of one year of demonetisation. 

There are also a possibility that Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi may join the protestors. However, so far, the Delhi Congress has not commented on the Mr Gandhi’s presence in Delhi to observe the Black Day. 

The party workers will also form a massive human chain at Connaught Place. “All the Comngress workers have been asked by the state Congress to be attired in black shirts and pants,” said a party leader on comndition of anonymity. 

Delhi state chief Ajay Maken is holding meetings daily with observers of every district in order to discuss the strategy to make their event successful. 

The party’s women’s wing will hold separate programmes to protest against the Centre. “We have planned to reach out to each woman of the city and inform her about the wrongdoings of the BJP-ruled central government,” a party source said.
