New Delhi: A 50-year-old woman has levelled serious charges of molestation and misbehaviour against an orthopaedic doctor attached to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital.

According to the complaint, the woman was having pain in her shoulder. When prolonged medication didn’t help, she approached the government hospital on March 1.

In her complaint, the woman said that she was allegedly standing in a queue to get a receipt when an orthopaedic doctor, identified as Dr Vinod, asked her to accompany him. She further charged that the doctor took her to his room and began to touch her inappropriately.

The accused then asked the woman to go to the fourth floor in a physiotherapy room and asked her to remove her clothes. She claimed that despite feeling awkward and asking the doctor not to perform the exercise, he persisted. It was then that he molested her.

The woman warned the doctor and said she would take up the matter with the police and would duly inform her husband regarding the perverse act. The doctor, however, didn’t care. Later, she narrated the entire chain of events to her husband, who in turn approached the jurisdictional police and registered a complaint in this regard.

The police has registered a case and launc-hed a hunt for the doctor, who has been on the run since the incident.
