Cab driver sexually abuses minor girl for 20 days, held

Gurgaon: A five-year-old girl was allegedly sexually abused by a school cab driver in Gurgaon for the last 20 days.

The girl is studying in a prominent school at Sector-31 in Gurgaon.

“The girl is a nursery student. She informed her parents on Tuesday that her school van driver, identified as Lalit Kumar , 42, was molesting her for the past 20 days and also threatened her about telling anything to anyone,” said the police.

Her parents immediately took her to the police station and lodged a complaint against the accused at the Sector-40 police station, following which the police came to in action and nabbed the accused driver on Wednesday from his village Kanhai.

The police said that the accused would drop her off last.

He used to insist that the girl sits in the front seat with him after dropping the other students. During questioning, Kumar confessed to the crime. He was produced in a city court on Thursday and sent to judicial custody.

“The driver stays with his family in Kanhai village and he was an alcoholic. We have arrested him nearby his village,” Sudhir Kumar, SHO of sector-40 police station said.It was the second case of crime against children within two days under Sector-40.

In a separate case, the city police had arrested a 28-year-old driver on Wednesday for allegedly raping a 13-year-old girl for the last four days after holding her captive in his rented house in Tigra village.
