Bizman robbed on busy flyover
People record incident on mobiles, but no one stepped forward to help.
New Delhi: In a shocking incident, which seems like a scene straight out of a Bollywood flick, a robbery in broad daylight was reported in the national capital on Thursday. The daring robbery was filmed on a mobile phone by a passerby and the video has gone viral online. The accused robbed the victim on the busy Naraina flyover in West Delhi.
The victim was identified as 40-year-old Kashish Bansal, a petrol pump owner. Mr Bansal was driving to Gurgaon from his home when three men on a motorcycle stopped his car on a flyover in West Delhi’s Naraina.
The assailants first intruded the victim’s way and then asked him to come out while pointing a gun at him. The trio then took away '70 lakh from the boot of his car, the police said.
The short video clip shows dramatic scenes taking place just outside the white SUV, which was stopped right in the middle of the flyover. Two men can be seen standing outside the car initially, where one of them is seen holding a gun.
The businessman can be seen sitting in the passenger seat. The young man can be seen trying to stop Mr Bansal from leaving the car. He held his gun in his left hand and the businessman by his collar.
Helpless passersby can be seen stopping their vehicles to see the drama unfolding in broad daylight. The businessman somehow managed to step out of the car and raced to the other side of the road. The unsteady video shows at least two other men. One of them points his gun at the businessman as he approaches them.
The police suspects that someone was aware of the businessman carrying the cash and had planned the robbery accordingly. The key accused was arrested late on Saturday.
