Manoj Tiwari slammed during BJP meet

New Delhi: Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari came under severe attack during the state unit’s core committee meet for his failure to prepare a list of those Delhiites who benefited from the government schemes and set up a call centre for verifying those who expressed willingness to join the party by giving missed calls on the party’s toll free numbers.
While interacting with the party’s Delhi unit on June 21, BJP president Amit Shah gave directions to prepare the list of beneficiaries and set up a call centre to verify new members. Each of this work was assigned to two Delhi BJP general secretaries.
A Delhi BJP core committee member told this newspaper that the task of preparing list of beneficiaries was assigned to Kuljeet Singh Chahal and Rajesh Bhatia was assigned the task of setting up the call centre.
“Even after three and a half months, both the leaders failed to execute Mr Shah’s direction. More interestingly, both the leaders, who hold key positions, have the blessing of the state leadership, but failed to deliver. Mr Bhatia is considered to be close to Mr Tiwari and Mr Chahal has the blessing of state general secretary (organisation) Sidhar-than,” he added.
Another core committee member questioned Mr Chahal and Mr Bhatia’s lackadaisical attitude.
According to a source, Delhi BJP general secretary Ravinder Gupta was the most vocal in the meeting and pointed out a series of laxity in the party functioning, including defying Mr Shah’s instructions.
Sources claimed that for the first time Mr Tiwari seemed cornered by others in a core committee meeting. Only two days ago it had unanimously supported his decision to impeach the East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC) commissioner.
It is also learnt that Mr Gupta categorically pointed out that Delhi BJP completely failed to execute all the work assigned by Mr Shah, which also included the formation for organisational structure on ground.
