Driver of AK Antony found hanging
Sanjay Singh was working at the MP's house since the last couple of years.
NEW DELHI: Former defence minister and Rajya Sabha MP A.K. Antony’s driver was found dead in the premises of the Congress leader’s house in Lutyens’ Delhi on Friday. The police suspects he committed suicide.
The body of Sanjay Singh, 35, was found hanging in the servant quarters at the official residence of the Congress leader on Jantar Mantar Road, the police said.
No suicide note was found from the spot. However, the police has ruled out foul play and said a probe is on to ascertain why he took the extreme step
According to the police, the matter came to light when a PCR call was made from the spot. Soon a team was rushed to the spot and the man taken to hospital where he was declared dead.
Sanjay Singh was working at the MP’s house since the last couple of years.
He was found hanging by one of the servants who works at the MP’s residence. He told the police that when Singh did not get up at his usual time, he knocked his room’s door, but got no answer. His phone calls too went unattended. He then raised an alarm and told others who broke open his door and found him hanging.
The body has been sent for post-mortem and his family members in Lalauli district of UP’s Fatehpur were informed about it.
