Delhi: Assam man commits suicide after fight with girlfriend
He was depressed over not getting a job and his relationship with his live-in partner was also passing through a rough patch.
New Delhi: A 25-year-old man from the Northeast allegedly committed suicide at his rented accommodation in south Delhi's Malviya Nagar area following an argument with his girlfriend, police said today.
Sanjay Sarma, a native of Dibrugarh in Assam, had come to Delhi for job, police said.
He was living in with his girlfriend at his rented accommodation in Malviya Nagar for the past three months, said a senior police officer.
His girlfriend returned late at night and found the door locked from inside and then informed the landlord. The door was broken down and Sarma was found hanging.
He was depressed over not getting a job and his relationship with his live-in partner was also passing through a rough patch, he said.
It is believed that he committed suicide yesterday. His body was sent for autopsy and investigation was taken up after registration of a case at Malviya Nagar police station.
No suicide note was recovered from the spot, said the officer.
