Congress, BJP workers upset: AAP
AAP alleged that the inner conflict within the BJP and the Congress is brewing.
New Delhi: With civic polls around the corner, Aam Aadmi Party said that many grassroots politicians are fed up with the BJP and the Congress and that has caused a lot of heartburns due to its last minute ticket distribution.
AAP alleged that the inner conflict within the BJP and the Congress is brewing. Twenty BJP workers of the youth and women wing, including a sitting councilor, joined the AAP on Wednesday. Earlier on Tuesday, thirteen Congress workers of Chandani Chowk area also joined the Arvind Kejriwal-led party.
“Grassroots workers and ward-level office bearers of the BJP and Congress are miffed over ticket distribution and corruption in the party,” the AAP said in a statement.
Last week, many disgruntled party workers had protested against the BJP and the Congress after they goofed up during the last-minute announcement of their nominees. The AAP too had its share of protests, but it managed to wrap up the candidate selection process way ahead of the two parties.
The three civic bodies – North Delhi, South Delhi and East Delhi Municipal Corporation – are going to polls on April 23. The AAP will be contesting its first full-fledged municipal polls after making a debut in the last year’s by-polls on 13 wards.
AAP claimed that the BJP and Congress, the former archrivals, are losing their grassroots workers at the both and polling station level.
