Taimoor Nagar murder case: 3 men arrested

New Delhi: Days after unidentified assailants shot a 34-year-old man to death in Southeast Delhi’s Taimoor Nagar area, the police has arrested three men in connection with the crime.
According to information, two of the detained men have confessed to their involvement in the murder of Rupesh Kumar Basoya, who was shot dead outside his own house in front of his two minor children.
The arrested trio — Akash, Suraj, and Ajay — went on a firing spree and committed a murder, four armed robberies and two vehicle thefts in the last four days, the police said.
On Sunday, the accused went to buy drugs from a woman in Taimoor Nagar after stealing a vehicle. They got into a brawl with the seller. Following this, they tried to flee fr-om the spot when Rupesh stopped them, the police said. Fearing arrest, Akash shot Rupesh before fleeing from the spot.
The accused on Monday discovered that Rupesh was dead. They decided to commit more crimes and subsequently flee to Kerala, the police said.
The same night, they robbed a meat shop owner of '50,000 in Vasant Kunj.
The owner, identified as Mohd Ahsad from Ghitor-ni, said he was closing his shop and counting the day’s earning when a masked man entered his shop with a gun.
He allegedly threatened to shoot Ahsad unless he parted with the money, the police said.
When Ahsad resisted, Akash shot the owner’s cousin, Mohd Faiyaz, who was hit in the abdomen. Akash fled the spot with the cash.
The complainant told the police that before entering the shop with a pistol, Akash had gone inside the shop a few minutes ago without a mask to take a look.
