Mumbai: With speculation rife about the Goa CM Manohar Parrikar’s health, the Goa government on Tuesday tweeted that the CM would be leaving for the US on Tuesday night for further treatment. Mr Parrikar has been in and out of hospitals since February. On Monday, Mr Parrikar was admitted to the Lilavati Hospital, Bandra (west). According to an official statement from the CMO, Mr Parrikar is being treated for ‘mild pancreatitis’.

The hospital’s officials however mentioned that he is responding well with the treatment and they have no idea about his proposed visit to the US. Talking to The Asian Age, Dr V. Sha-nkaran, and CEO of Lila-vati Hospital said, “Parrikar is responding well to the treatment here.” We have no idea about his departure to the US.”

On February 25, Mr Parrikar was rushed to the Goa Medical College and Hospital after he suffered mild dehyd-ration and severe stomachache. He was discharged from the hospital on March 1. In Mr Parrikar’s absence, the entire administration will be handled through the ministerial committee, while separate ministries are expected to update the CM through video-conferencing, every Wednesday.
