SDMC to install CCTVs in all primary schools

The officials who are handling the entire operation said that by December this year all the schools will have CCTV cameras.

New Delhi: To ensure safety of students, the South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) has planned to install closed-circuit television cameras (CCTV) in all its 581 primary schools. Considering the safety and security of the students, the cameras will be installed at the school gate and in the gallery of the schools to keep a tight vigil. 

The civic-body in its bid to transform children lives in its schools has taken a number of measures, including turning the classroom into a smart one with a smart board, projectors, Interactive pad, Podium, UPS, speakers and other hardware and software to make the study interesting.

The officials who are handling the entire operation said that by December this year all the schools will have CCTV cameras. 

“We have decided to provide foolproof security to our students. The step will fulfill our commitment. All schools under the SDMC will have CCTV cameras and that will be monitored at headquarters. It will also help us keep a check on teachers also,” the official said. According to the information, all schools under the SDMC will have CCTV cameras and that will be monitored at headquarters. 

The step of installing cameras will put a stop on untoward incidents at school.  The officials have identified the isolated spots where the cameras will be installed. A monitoring team will also be constituted to monitor the entire operation.
