New Delhi: Sharpening its attack on the Arvind Kejriwal government in the national capital over the findings of the Shunglu Committee, the BJP on Friday demanded CBI and CVC probes into illegal decisions of the AAP government as flagged by the panel in its report. The party also demanded lieutenant-governor Anil Baijal set aside all appointments of AAP functionaries in the Delhi government, made without the L-G’s approval.

Addressing a press conference at BJP national headquarters, BJP Lok Sabha member from New Delhi Meenakshi Lekhi alleged that Mr Kejriwal looted public money to benefit AAP functionaries. Union minister Vijay Goel also hit out at Congress and AAP saying they could again join hands for “greed of power” after the civic polls. “The real contest is between the BJP and Congress, while the AAP will be left in the third position after elections for 272 wards of the three municipal corporations on April 23,” said Mr Goel.

Ms Lekhi, flanked by Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly Vijender Gupta, also charged the Kejriwal government with eng-aging in nepotism and corruption. “We demanded CBI and CVC probes into the Shunglu panel report which has flagged the AAP-led Delhi government’s various illegal decisions, incl-uding appointment of party functionaries, and allotment of land to the AAP for its office,” said Ms Lekhi.
