UP govt official nabbed for duping people

NEW DELHI: A serving junior assistant serving in Uttar Pradesh Public Works Department (PWD) was apprehended by CISF for allegedly duping people on the pretext of providing them tickets at IGI Airport.
There were a number of cases in where the passengers were cheated by the accused, who was posing himself as an airline booking agent and taking money on the pretext of providing flight tickets.
“The accused used to pose as a ticket agent and claimed to arrange air ticket,” said the CISF sources, adding that he has duped many people earlier. The accused use to concealed his real identity and took money from the victims.
In this context, CISF surveillance and intelligence staff posted at IGI Airport came into action and obtained his details from CCTV and shared with all surveillance staffs of city side area to catch him.
On Friday at about 4:45 AM, on suspicion, constable Rohtash Yadav of CISF surveillance team deployed at alighting point patrolling area of terminal-3 noticed a visitor of the same description. He was intercepted. On enquiry, the accused denied his involvement into any of such cases, but on tactfully questioning, he accepted his misdeeds.
The apprehended visitor was identified as Mr Abhishek Verma a resident of Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh serving in PWD (UP) as Junior Assistant. A mobile phone, an Aadhaar card, Pan Card, UP PWD departmental ID card, Rs 18000 and Nepalese currency of 30 denominations were recovered from his possession.
