Fugitive of Manjeet Mahal gang arrested

He tried to hoodwink the police team, but on detailed interrogation, he confessed his involvement in two criminal incidents.

New Delhi :The sleuths of Crime Branch arrested a fugitive member of Manjeet Mahal gang on Thursday.

The accused identified as Praveen Malik alias Moli was wanted in an abduction-cum-robbery case in Dwaraka Sector-23 and in a carjacking case in Bajghera Gurugram, the police said.

The police said that the Crime Branch has invoked provisions of Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act, 1999 against the Manjeet Mahal gang.

According to the police, on December 5, two constables, Pawan and Anil Dalal of Inter-border Gangs Investigation Squad of Crime Branch received a tip off that Praveen Malik of Manjeet Mahal gang would come near Goyala Dairy bus stand area to meet one of his aides.

And that he would be accompanied by gangsters Vikas Dalal and Anshul Dhankhar, wanted for kidnapping of a businessman of Dwarka Sector 23 and other cases.

A team of IGIS, Crime Branch was formed, which laid a trap near the expected place of arrival and apprehended Malik.
