New Delhi: The Delhi police is likely to outsource its computer-based written examination and other activities of its recruitment process for one year. The bidding will close on July 31 and will be opened on August 1.
Digitally signed online e-tenders in a two-bid system — technical and financial bid — will be invited for outsourcing of a firm having their office and work operations in Delhi NCR, said a senior police official.
The firm will have to provide a complete solution to conduct the examination. The firm will make arrangement for continual monitoring and recording of candidate’s activities at each venue through a web camera and IP-based CCTV surveillance so as to cover all the candidates in the centre for the duration of the exam. Provision for live feed to the Delhi police officers will be made available.
The pattern of examination will be “Multiple choice answers - objective type questions” as per Delhi police standing order. The vendor must have its own software capability for conducting the examination. Also the software will be provided by the firm that will have an administrator module so as to enable real-time monitoring of the test by the Delhi police. A senior police official said a ‘Question Bank’ will be created by the firm for the written exam. A team of experts would be deployed by the firm for question development and validation work.
It would be the responsibility of the vendor to put in place all the security measures to protect the question bank from hacking or any other security threats.
The Delhi police will share the centre-wise details of the candidates. It would be the responsibility of the vendor to provide slots to the candidates at the centre and also to communicate these details to the candidates through an SMS and email at least two/three weeks before the exam.
