Police arrests criminal in new seemapuri colony

New Delhi:  A criminal carrying a reward of Rs 50,000 has been arrested in New Seemapuri locality,  police said on Monday. 

The accused, identified as Yogesh Bhati (33), was held on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday by cops on picket duty on the 70 Foota Road in New Seemapuri, a senior police officer said.

Bhati, who is wanted in two cases, including one under the Gangster Act, in Uttar Pradesh, was spotted riding a mobike. When signalled to stop for inquiry, he flashed a gun at the policemen to escape but was overpowered, said N. Prasad, DCP, Shahdara. “During interrogation, it was found that Bhati is involved in 20 to 21 various crimes and is a member of th dreaded Kulbir and Randeep Bhati gang of Dadri,” the DCP said. 

He was also wanted in a case filed at Surajpur police station. The case related to an encounter with police in which Amit Bhati was arrested, while Yogesh and Billu Dujana escaped.
