4-yr-old girl crushed by school cab in east Delhi's Shakarpur area

The cab driver had dropped the girl, Anushka Ranjan, home but while reversing, he didn't realise that she was standing behind, police said.

New Delhi: A four-year-old girl was allegedly crushed to death under the wheels of her school cab this afternoon in east Delhi's Shakarpur area.

The cab driver had dropped the girl, Anushka Ranjan, home but while reversing, he didn't realise that she was standing behind, police said.

She sustained severe injuries in the accident and was taken to the hospital by the driver, they said. She was declared brought dead by doctors at the hospital and the accused driver, Mohit, has been arrested. Anushka studied in a private school in Preet Vihar, police said.

This afternoon, she was dropped outside her residence at G-Block in Shakarpur. Anushka's father is an advocate, they said.
